History

This is our history in a few points.
In 2003, four students decided to create a fraternity in the French educational system which doesn’t possess any. It took on the name EON.
In 2004, the logo of the brotherhood was chosen: EON written in the traditional Greek alphabet which corresponds to the Sigma, Theta, Pi letters, but this name was not yet ratified.
In 2007, with the will to resemble the North American Fraternity System, the motion to modify the nomination to Sigma Theta Pi is passed.
In 2008, one of the four brotherhood father’s exports the fraternity to Canada, more precisely in Montreal. The same year, the chapter of Montreal became the fraternity headquarters.
In 2009, a structure of an existing fraternity Delta Sigma Pi Lyon (France), submitted a chapter request, to be associated to Sigma Theta Pi. Lyon became the third chapter.
In 2009, a few weeks after Lyon, the city of Amiens, Picardie, France, applied for an opening chapter based in Picardie University. Soon, Bordeaux joined the family as a chapter as well.
In 2009, Sigma Theta Pi and Sigma Phi Delta Cannes chapter, created the Inter Fraternity Council of France to fight prejudices, the IFCF aims to grow our community across the country, and in Europe.
In 2010, Sigma Theta Pi creates a sorority, Zeta Lambda Zeta. This affiliated sorority has 3 different chapters, the first in Amiens (France), the second in Montreal (QC, Canada), and finally the third in Bordeaux (France).
In 2010, the fraternity is proud to open a new chapter in Dijon, France. And finally, we opened our second chapter in Canada, in St John's, Newfoundland.
In 2011, the fraternity is proud to open a new chapter, our third chapter in Canada, in Sherbrooke, Quebec.
