How to join

We’re excited to meet you and get acquainted. The best way for this to happen is for you to participate in recruitment at your school.

We recruit most of our new members through the formal recruitment process (formerly known as rush) at the colleges and universities where we have chapters. If you’d like to participate, contact the fraternity on your campus for recruitment dates and registration procedures (see recruitment section).

We also recruit new members through a process called continuous recruitment. This means we can get to know you through more informal settings, such as community service, philanthropic events or campus activities. We also ask our current members to recommend outstanding young men for membership.

However you meet us, it’s important to remember that membership in Sigma Theta Pi is determined by mutual choice—yours and ours. Our recruitment processes—formal and informal—let us learn about one another to see if we have a good match.

It’s also important for you to know that as we seek new members, we look for young men who share our spirit and values—including individuality. We’re interested in meeting young men who share our standards of academic achievement, good character, leadership ability and personal development.
